Choosing relevant and revenue increasing keywords published on 15.04.10 by J Corn
It is all ok choosing keywords but are they really reaching your target audience? Choosing generic words can be costing you more than you think.

The first rule is to use brackets and speech marks. You should definitely focus more on keyphrase than keywords. If you just write keywords without being enclosed, the results can be for any site with those keywords anywhere within the site. This means you can show results for sites that are completely not related.

If you use “quotation marks” this means that all of the keywords are in the site together in a phrase, but not in the particular order you placed them in. So if your keyphrase was “purchase new car” Google would find sites for that exact phrase, but will also pick up sites with “new car purchase” or “car new purchase”.

If you use [brackets] the key phrase you have chosen will have to be in that exact order. So for the phrase [purchase new car], Google will only come up with websites with the combination [purchase new car].

It is very important you use these methods to get relevant results. This will mean more clicks from customers who are interested in your site.
